Are the services really free?
The directory itself is free and requires no registration. Many lawyers offer free help via Legal Aid (a UK government programme covering immigration & asylum cases). NHS GP practices are free for everyone in the UK regardless of immigration status.
Where does the data come from?
Official sources: SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority), BSB (Bar Standards Board), IAA (Immigration Advice Authority — formerly OISC), NHS GP directory, Charity Commission. Plus recommendations from our community. Each entry has source attribution and update date.
How do I find a Legal Aid lawyer?
Open the Lawyers section and toggle the Legal Aid filter. The database has 169 firms with active Legal Aid contracts for immigration & asylum cases. Call them directly — they are required to take you on if they have capacity.
My city is not in the database. What now?
The directory covers all of the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland). If your city has few entries — try neighbouring cities or counties. Many lawyers and translators work remotely. For help, message our Telegram channel.
