Activities

The organisation's purposes are to ameliorate hardship among African migrants and immigrants in the UK through the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion. It also aims to promote and advance the rights of widows in Africa, to campaign against violence, discrimination and degrading widowhood practices, and to assist individuals or families of victims of such practices residing in Scotland or elsewhere in the United Kingdom. Listed means include sensitisation programmes, raising awareness of domestic and international laws protecting the rights of women, legal aid and advice to poor widows, their dependants and young people in order to obtain redress, financial grants, donations and scholarships, skills acquisition training, provision of infrastructure for education, sports activities and youth mentorship programmes. The charity states that it intends to educate young people and vulnerable individuals at risk about the dangers of illegal migration, and to provide support services to alleviate poverty.
