Baba Yangu Foundation is a community-led mental health charity supporting African and Caribbean individuals in Scotland. We foster well-being and unity, with a focus on youth aged 8-18. Suso provides a safe space for young black people in Scotland to learn, explore, connect and build confidence, with tailored sessions focused on confidence-building, emotional management and creative expression. We also explore areas beyond Glasgow, and we collaborate with NHSGCC to raise mental health awareness. Our Healthy Minds programmes prioritise food, community and resources, and we recognise the importance of food within our community and provide authentic African cuisine. The foundation's stated purposes also include the relief of poverty among people in the black community, especially those new to the country with asylum or refugee status, through the provision of food, clothing and access to employability skills and resources.
