Activities
The charity was set up principally to support and encourage integration into the local community by asylum seekers and refugees, and to alleviate poverty among the group. This is done by facilitating a weekly lunch held at Friendship House, collecting and distributing food bags from the Drumchapel Food Bank, distributing donated clothing and household items, and organising workshops and events. Its stated purposes also include the advancement of education through English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes and other courses to help with employability skills and general wellbeing, working with Thriving Places, Glasgow Clyde College and other partners to support people into work and further education, and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by challenging loneliness and isolation through weekly meetings with asylum seekers and refugees from around the world.
