Activities

Femmes Solidaires helps immigrant community members at risk of destitution with emergency food, clothing and hygiene packs, a community kitchen, and support with travel costs to appointments relating to their status. It translates letters and signposts people to emergency accommodation providers, libraries, colleges and other centres offering English for Speakers of Other Languages classes. It builds social connections between immigrant communities and wider society through cultural exchange, community events, intercultural festivals and community dinners, and runs health literacy workshops and awareness sessions plus after-school homework activities for young people. It also helps people register with health services and accompanies the most vulnerable to medical appointments, providing translation support where needed.
