Activities

Hong Kong Society in Scotland promotes human rights for people in the community it serves, as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and subsequent United Nations covenants, treaties and declarations. It does this by proposing policy recommendations to the United Nations and to public authorities including the United Kingdom and its devolved administrations, and by running education programmes and activities. It advances equality and racial harmony among people with Hong Kong heritage in the community and elsewhere in the United Kingdom through arts, cultural and memorial activities and facilities for community activities, and provides advice and assistance to recent migrants, asylum claimants and refugees in the community. It also advances community development, including urban regeneration, through the acquisition, management and use of land and buildings for community benefit, with activities open to all residents.
