Activities
In 2024 the charity continued to support its members and community through person centred peer support, providing practical, emotional and social support to asylum seeking families living in the south west of Glasgow area. It also assisted with social inclusion and integration through sightseeing, hospitality and social events. Its constitutional purposes include establishing a community hub in conjunction with other service providers, identifying issues and needs within the community, integrating ethnic minorities and migrants into the local community through workshops and a mentoring scheme, addressing the cross culture shock experienced by both native Scottish people and new Scots, raising awareness of gender based violence in challenging abuse against women, men and children, exploring Scottish and African culture and traditions through storytelling, arts and crafts, cooking and sharing food, and supporting the education of children and young people living in Glasgow, particularly Africans and ethnic minority children, through a homework and after-school club.
