Northern Roots promotes in excess of 100 concerts a year in reggae, soul and blues in Newcastle and Gateshead. The organisation has since the late 1980s worked hard to attract a culturally diverse audience to its concerts. It has developed mentoring projects with refugees, as well as work with young people in culturally diverse schools.
