Activities
Prevents and relieves poverty by initiating and facilitating humanitarian assistance and support to refugees and asylum seekers, in particular Syrian refugees and asylum seekers, in Scotland, the UK and abroad. It advances the health and wellbeing of refugees and asylum seekers, in particular Syrian refugees and asylum seekers, and their families through health awareness, training initiatives, volunteering and physical and mental wellbeing support programmes. It advances education through educational activities and training opportunities, parental engagement in education and English language support for refugees and asylum seekers and their families, and promotes equality and diversity through celebration of cultural heritage and inclusion in multicultural Scotland, with empowerment and capacity-building support to tackle isolation and promote integration and active citizenship. The charity also holds, on average, two to ten public gatherings a year, where members and other invitees from the community meet to celebrate events and share experience.
