Activities
Provides a safe space, aid and support to all asylum seekers and refugees who are placed in the Dumfries and Galloway area. It welcomes and gives information to new arrivals, hosts open mornings for meeting, conversation and access to donations, responds to requests for help, holds conversation sessions and other events at its Depot, and organises events and cultural visits. It collects, sorts and distributes donations in response to need for aid in Dumfries and Galloway and overseas, sending donations mainly to Ukraine. It also runs learning and information events and programmes that develop the personal skills and knowledge of its service users and the local community, provides recreational activities for wellbeing and mental and physical health, hosts cultural and educational events to promote equality, diversity and religious and racial harmony, and develops advocacy and partnerships with other organisations to advance human rights.
