WAST is a self-help organisation led by women asylum seekers, building members' capacity for survival in the asylum system. It develops members' confidence, basic English, cultural understanding and new skills, and provides opportunities to take part in activities that help overcome the trauma of their experiences and raise awareness and understanding in their local communities.
