Sanctuary Scholarship (formerly Article 26 Scholarship)
How to apply
You do not need to wait for an offer — the scholarship application can run alongside admission.
- Apply for a full-time undergraduate course at DMU for Sept 2026
- You may submit the scholarship application even before your DMU course offer arrives
- Complete the Sanctuary Scholarship application form (PDF download)
- Attach evidence of immigration status (create a UKVI account for your eVisa if your BRP has expired)
- Get a reference letter on headed paper from a professional contact, not a relative or friend (e.g. tutor, support worker, employer)
- Submit between 9am, 5 Jan 2026 and 9am, 11 May 2026
- No reply within 10 days of the 11 May deadline means the application was unsuccessful

There is no interview — the decision is made on documents. On most routes there are no subject entrance exams either: the main hurdle on the way into university is proving your level of English. The exceptions are medicine, dentistry and creative courses, where tests and portfolios do appear.
