Quantedge-Cambridge Masters Scholarship (formerly Refugee Masters Scholarship)
How to apply
You do not need to wait for an offer — the scholarship application can run alongside admission.
- Apply to the University of Cambridge for the chosen graduate course via the standard postgraduate route at postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk
- During that application, indicate interest in funding; eligible candidates get further instructions via the portal to complete the Studentship application
- No need to name King's College when applying — successful candidates are asked to transfer there
- Deadline: 7 January 2026 for 2026/27 entry
- If awarded, submit a brief report on academic work and King's experience toward the end of the course
How they select
application form
There is no interview — the decision is made on documents. On most routes there are no subject entrance exams either: the main hurdle on the way into university is proving your level of English. The exceptions are medicine, dentistry and creative courses, where tests and portfolios do appear.

About the institution
King's College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. Open to full-time MPhil study at King's or a small set of one-year full-time Masters courses. The successful candidate is chosen at the discretion of the relevant course Director of Studies together with Graduate and Senior Tutors — 2 places/year, for candidates with refugee status, former refugee status, or from areas of instability/conflict; candidates with some existing partial funding are still welcomed.
Mostly school leavers. Only 11.1% of students are over 30. If you are over 35, look at other universities on the list — there are more adults there.
