Important warning
Payments stop if you are granted status during the course. Ask in advance what happens to the money: a decision can arrive mid-course.

How to apply

You need a place first: apply to the programme and wait for an offer. Scholarship applications are only considered from people who already hold one.

  1. Hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible course starting Sept 2026
  2. Gather documents: immigration status proof, referee statement, ~1,000-word personal statement
  3. Submit online application via the UniHub portal by midnight, 22 June 2026
  4. Await a shortlisting notification
  5. If shortlisted, attend an interview
  6. Receive an outcome decision by September

What to prepare

  • Home Office share code plus decision letter (or ARC card and asylum confirmation for pending claims)
  • Referee statement from a non-family member (teacher, charity worker, faith representative or health professional)
  • Personal statement (~1,000 words)

How they select

application form · personal statement · references · interview

There is an interview here. It is a conversation about your situation and your study plans, not a subject exam: nobody tests the school syllabus or tries to catch you out. You can answer calmly, in your own words.

There are adults, but they are a minority. 20.4% of students are over 30 and 31.8% are over 25 — an average picture for a UK university.
