How to apply
You need a place first: apply to the programme and wait for an offer. Scholarship applications are only considered from people who already hold one.
- Be enrolled in, or hold a conditional/unconditional offer for, a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course in Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine (or other science/medicine degree)
- Complete the online application form on phoenixfellow.org — applications submitted any other way are not considered
- Provide supporting documentation demonstrating financial need
- Also apply for UK Student Finance to cover tuition fees (per FAQ guidance)
- If successful, supply documentary evidence of current immigration status (e-visa, Biometric Residence Permit, Home Office letter, or solicitor correspondence)

How they select

There is no interview — the decision is made on documents. On most routes there are no subject entrance exams either: the main hurdle on the way into university is proving your level of English. The exceptions are medicine, dentistry and creative courses, where tests and portfolios do appear.

About the institution
Not tied to a single university — a UK charity funding refugee students, with an emphasis on women, studying Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine or other science/medicine degrees at any UK university; the Fellowship (not a university admissions office) assesses eligibility, and partners with NGOs, universities and refugee organisations.

Unusually REQUIRES eligibility for UK Student Finance (opposite of most schemes) — likely excludes those unable to access it. Medicine/dentistry/vet/named sciences only.
