How to apply
You need a place first: apply to the programme and wait for an offer. Scholarship applications are only considered from people who already hold one.
- Hold an offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree at the University of Gloucestershire
- If applying as an asylum seeker, have already submitted your asylum claim to the Home Office
- Submit the scholarship application form (available on the Sanctuary Scholarship page), including proof of your immigration status and a referee's details (teacher, employer, or community leader)
- If shortlisted, attend an interview, either in person or via MS Teams
- Await notification of the outcome

There is an interview here. It is a conversation about your situation and your study plans, not a subject exam: nobody tests the school syllabus or tries to catch you out. You can answer calmly, in your own words.

About the institution
University of Gloucestershire; the scholarship is named for the late Rt Revd Michael Perham, formerly Bishop of Gloucester and the university's Pro-Chancellor.
