How to apply

You do not need to wait for an offer — the scholarship application can run alongside admission.

  1. Apply to study your chosen 2026/27 course at Leeds (you don't need an offer yet)
  2. Contact sanctuaryscholarships@leeds.ac.uk for the scholarship application
  3. If your written application succeeds, you'll be invited to an interview

How they select

application form · interview

There is an interview here. It is a conversation about your situation and your study plans, not a subject exam: nobody tests the school syllabus or tries to catch you out. You can answer calmly, in your own words.

Ask before you apply

We do not fill in the gaps for the institution. Here is what its own page leaves unclear — these are normal questions, everyone asks them.

  • What happens to the payments if I am granted refugee status mid-year?
  • Is the scholarship for one year or for the whole course?

About the institution

Mostly school leavers. Only 6.8% of students are over 30. If you are over 35, look at other universities on the list — there are more adults there.
