Having no access to student finance is not a condition here: people with recognised refugee status who already receive a student loan can apply.

How to apply

You need a place first: apply to the programme and wait for an offer. Scholarship applications are only considered from people who already hold one.

Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at the University of Nottingham UK Campus
Complete the online application form via Microsoft Forms (linked on the scholarship page) by the closing date
Consent to Student Finance sharing your household income to verify it is under £35,000
Applications are assessed after the start of the academic year
If eligible, the award appears in the Financial Aid section of your MyNottingham portal within 4 weeks
To appeal, contact john.hudson@nottingham.ac.uk within 4 weeks of the outcome

How they select

There is no interview — the decision is made on documents. On most routes there are no subject entrance exams either: the main hurdle on the way into university is proving your level of English. The exceptions are medicine, dentistry and creative courses, where tests and portfolios do appear.
