  3. Complete the UWE Cares survey sent to your Welcome portal after your offer, or email UWECares@uwe.ac.uk to be assessed
  4. Household income is assessed by your student finance body (must be under £25,000 for the bursary/accommodation support)
  5. If invited for accommodation support, respond to the email invitation sent by Admissions

There is no interview — the decision is made on documents. On most routes there are no subject entrance exams either: the main hurdle on the way into university is proving your level of English. The exceptions are medicine, dentistry and creative courses, where tests and portfolios do appear.

Ask before you apply

We do not fill in the gaps for the institution. Here is what its own page leaves unclear — these are normal questions, everyone asks them.

  • What happens to the payments if I am granted refugee status mid-year?

Who to write to: UWECares@uwe.ac.uk (admissions@uwe.ac.uk for immigration-status evidence)

If this scheme is not for you

About the institution

UWE Bristol runs across three campuses in Bristol — Frenchay, City and Glenside. The page does not explain how fee status itself is assessed, only that household income is checked via the student finance body.

Adults are a visible share. Roughly one student in four is over 30 (22.1%), and 34.8% are over 25.
