Sanctuary Scholarship (separate UG/PGT/PhD schemes)
How to apply
You need a place first: apply to the programme and wait for an offer. Scholarship applications are only considered from people who already hold one.
- Apply for an Undergraduate course (2026 entry) at Warwick through Clearing (the only UG route still open)
- Follow the eligibility criteria and apply online via the linked application steps
- Provide documentary evidence for each eligibility criterion (right to study, asylum status/visa decision letter, UK residency)
- Application assessed by the WP Lifecycle Team and Immigration Team
- UCAS firm choice deadline is 3 June 2026

There is no interview — the decision is made on documents. On most routes there are no subject entrance exams either: the main hurdle on the way into university is proving your level of English. The exceptions are medicine, dentistry and creative courses, where tests and portfolios do appear.

About the institution
The University of Warwick sits on the outskirts of Coventry, a 'City of Sanctuary'. Fee status is assessed by individual student finance companies based on visa/protection-scheme status.
Mostly school leavers. Only 11.5% of students are over 30. If you are over 35, look at other universities on the list — there are more adults there.
